Ron Kirk is Senior Of Counsel in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Dallas and Washington, D.C. offices. He is Co-Chair of both the International Trade and Sports Law practices. He is also a member of the Public Policy, Crisis Management and Private Equity practice groups.

Ambassador Kirk focuses on providing strategic advice to companies with global interests. Prior to joining the firm in April 2013, Ambassador Kirk served as the 16th United States Trade Representative (USTR) and was a member of President Obama's Cabinet, serving as the President's principal trade advisor, negotiator and spokesperson on trade issues.

Ambassador Kirk was nominated to be United States Trade Representative by President Barack Obama and was confirmed by the United States Senate in 2009. The office of USTR is responsible for the development and oversight of U.S. trade policy, including strategy, negotiation, implementation and enforcement of multilateral, regional/bilateral and sector-specific trade agreements. Ambassador Kirk successfully negotiated the conclusion and Congressional passage of trade agreements with Columbia, Panama and Korea, and Russian's entry in the World Trade Organization. He was also responsible for U.S. trade policy involving agriculture; industry; services and investment; intellectual property; environment; labor; development and preference programs.

Ambassador Kirk draws upon more than 30 years of diverse legislative and economic experience on local, state and federal levels. As the first African American Mayor of Dallas from 1995 - 2001, he earned a reputation for bringing together diverse coalitions to get things done. During his tenure as Mayor, Ambassador Kirk expanded Dallas' reach to the world through a range of trade programs, including numerous trade missions. He also passed seven budgets that focused on the critical needs of the city while maintaining and even lowering taxes. His economic development efforts helped secure more than 45,000 jobs and investment of more than $3.5 billion in Dallas. To protect citizens he increased the public safety budget by $128 million, and while he was Mayor, Dallas saw its lowest crime rate in 20 years. Previously, Governor Ann Richards appointed him as Texas Secretary of State, he served as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen and he was named as chair of Texas' General Service Commission. Ambassador Kirk also served as a City of Dallas assistant city attorney.

Prior to joining USTR, Ambassador Kirk was a partner at Vinson & Elkins LLP, where his principal area of practice was public finance and public policy.

In 2014, Ambassador Kirk was named one of the "28 Men of Change" by BET Networks and ICON MANN in a special initiative for Black History Month featuring "inspirational figures" from multiple countries and a wide array of industries. The initiative shared "the journeys of 28 contemporary trailblazers whose formula for success includes empowering others, and who credit their personal and professional advancement to their continued investment in philanthropy." He has been actively involved in the community and has been recognized by a number of state and national organizations. He is currently serving as a Trustee for Austin College and the University of Texas Law School Foundation as well as the Advisory Commission for the Center for American Progress.

Ambassador Kirk was featured in Law360 as part of its Minority Powerbrokers Q&A series in 2014. He has been named one of "The 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America" by The National Law Journal and one of the nation's top government relations lawyers by The Best Lawyers in America. He is the recipient of the University of Texas Distinguished Alumni Award, Woodrow Wilson Center for Public Policy's Outstanding Public Service Award, the Young Texas Exes Award, and the Austin College Distinguished Alumni Award. Ambassador Kirk also received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Degree from Austin College and the Mickey Leland Leadership Award from Texas Southern University.

Ambassador Kirk was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and sociology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1979. He is married to Matrice Ellis-Kirk, and they have two daughters, Elizabeth Alexandra and Catherine Victoria.

Mr.  Ali  Ahmed  Al-Kuwari  became Group  Chief  Executive  Officer  at  Qatar  National Bank  in  July  2013.  Mr.  Al  Kuwari  has  extensive  banking  experience  having  joined  QNB  in 1988.  Prior  to  joining  QNB,  Mr.  Al  Kuwari  was  working  for  Qatar  Petroleum  for  4  years.

Prior  to  being  appointed  as Group  CEO,  Mr.  Al  Kuwari  was  the  Executive  General  Manager  & Group  Chief  Business  Officer,  a  post  he  held  for  over  six  years.  He  was  responsible  for  all  business lines  of  QNB  and  instrumental  for  QNB  becomes  No.  I   Bank  in  Middle  East  &  North  Africa.

Mr.  Al-Kuwari  is  member  of  several  boards  and  is  the  Chairman  of  QNB  Capital  (the investment  banking  advisory  arm  of  QNB  Group)  and  is  the  Chairman  of  QNB  Indonesia,  a subsidiary  in  Indonesia.  He  is  Vice  Chairman  of  CBI  in  the  UAE.  He  is  the  Chairman  of MasterCard  Advisory  Board  for  the  Middle  East  and  Africa  and  board  member  at  Milaha  and vice  chairman  of  Qatar  Exchange  and  board  member  of  QFBA.

Mr.  Al-Kuwari  has  a  Master  of  Science  in  Management  Information  System  from  the  University  of Seattle    Pacific  (1987)  and  a  Bachelor  in  Math  and  Computer  Science  from  Eastern  Washington University  (1984).  Mr.  Al-Kuwari  has  also  attended  a  number  of  Executive  Programs  at  Wharton School  of  Business,  London  Business  School,  Cambridge  University  and  Duke  University.

Attila Csajbok is Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank’s Vienna Financial Sector Advisory Centre (FinSAC). His main responsibility is to provide technical assistance to World Bank clients in the areas of financial stability and macroprudential policy, as well as conducting financial crisis simulation exercises. He joined the FinSAC team in 2012. Previously he was Deputy Head of Financial Stability at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB, the central bank of Hungary). He had been with the MNB for 15 years, working in various areas like financial markets, monetary policy and financial stability. During these years he had actively participated in the transformation of the MNB into a fully-fledged inflation targeting central bank. In his previous role as Head of the Monetary Strategy Division, he had a direct experience of day-to-day monetary policy decision-making. At the onset of the financial crisis, he joined the MNB’s Financial Stability Department where he was responsible for macro stress-testing and forecasting. He has publications on various topics such as extracting information from financial asset prices, monetary policy rules, central bank governance, foreign currency lending, macroprudential policy coordination and financial crisis simulations. Mr. Csajbok has an M.Phil. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

In his role as Under Secretary for Cyber Security-QCERT, Qatar's National Program that safeguards the country's information and communications systems. Khalid leads a team that works closely with government agencies, financial institutions, energy sector, businesses, and citizens to address cyber security risks, protect sensitive information, and ensure the safety of children on the Internet.

Khalid has been instrumental in the development of a national strategy for cyber security, focusing first on critical sector services within the country. Recognizing that cyber security is not confined to national boundaries, he has worked closely with many security teams worldwide to develop integrated response systems and a robust information network as well as participated in drafting Cyber Security related Laws.

Khalid played an imperative role to establish GCC CERT Committee and was appointed chairman for the 1st year; the committee addresses cyber security threats in the Gulf region. Further,

Issa Khalil received PhD degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, USA in 2007. Immediately thereafter he joined the College of Information Technology (CIT) of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) where he served as an associate professor and department head of the Information Security Department. In June 2013, Khalil joined the Cyber Security Group in Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), a member of Qatar Foundation, as a Senior Scientist, where he recently promoted to principal scientist. Khalil’s research interests span the areas of wireless and wireline network security and privacy. He is especially interested in cloud security, botnet detection and takedown, and security data analytics. His novel technique to discover malicious domains following the guilt-by-association social principle attracts the attention of local media and stakeholders. Dr. Khaled Harras, is an Associate Professor at Carnegie Melon University Qatar (CMUQ), and Director of the Computer Science program there. Dr. Harras is the founder and director of the Networking Systems Lab (NSL) at CMUQ. For the past 14 years, he has been working on the areas of challenged and opportunistic networks, video sensor networks, unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), ubiquitous and pervasive systems, mobile edge computation/networked architectures, and cyber security. He also has expertise in the domains of wireless and mobile networks measurement, building real systems and testbeds, designing and implementing architectures and frameworks based on real data. Dr. Harras has more than 80 refereed publications in numerous international prestigious journals, conferences, and workshops, and 4 US patents. Along with his research group in the past few years, he has won the best computing research award in Qatar twice, received two best paper awards, and his work has been featured online various venues like MIT Tech Review and Tech the Future. To date, he has been involved in or managing research grants that amount to more than 3 Million USD, and has supervised over 30 different personnel including undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and research engineers.

Ahmed Bouridane received an "Ingenieur d'Etat" degree in electronics from "Ecole Nationale Polytechnique" of Algiers (ENPA), Algeria, in 1982,

an M.Phil. degree in electrical engineering (VLSI design for signal processing) from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, U.K., in 1988, and

an Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering (computer vision) from the University of Nottingham, U.K., in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he worked as a Research Developer in telesurveillance and access control applications. In 1994, he joined Queen's University Belfast, Belfast, U.K., initially

as Lecturer in computer architecture and image processing and later on he was promoted to Reader in Computer Science. He is now a full Professor

in Image Engineering and Security and leads the Computer and Electronic Security Systems Group at Northumbria University at Newcastle (UK),

and his research interests are in imaging for forensics and security, biometrics, homeland security, image/video watermarking, cryptography,

steganography/steganalysis for secure communication and visual computing. He has authored and co-authored more than 300 publications and one research book on imaging for forensics and security.

This includes work with a GCC government's national cyber security unit to improve critical infrastructure protection; work with British police and specialist operations units to develop a national police cyber training programme; work in the GCC to improve judges and prosecutors' understanding of cyber crime and cyber security; and work with senior law enforcement officials from Southern and Eastern African countries on regional cyber structures. Before joining PGI, Sebastian worked for eight years as a strategy consultant specialising in government cyber and national security structures.

Mr. Mirza is a Computer Science graduate from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM - Dhahran, Saudi Arabia). With a passion for GCC-based research and innovation, he has been serving the Information Security / Cybersecurity requirements of the GCC Financial Sector for over 20 years. During this time, he has also contributed to the region via numerous speaking events providing insight on current and emerging threats specific to GCC based organizations.
In 2006, Mirza initiated the PCI compliance program for the Saudi Financial sector that eventually resulted with every acquirer in Saudi being PCI-certified by end of 2011. Yazan Boshmaf, PhD is a Research Scientist in the Cyber Security group at Qatar Computing Research Institute, HBKU. His work is centered around the security of large-scale social and information networks. Broadly, Dr. Boshmaf’s research spans cross-disciplinary areas, and combines techniques from distributed systems, machine learning, and social computing to tackle emerging network and computer security problems. He has received various international and institutional awards for his research on analyzing the security and privacy of malicious social bots. As part of his research, Dr. Boshmaf worked with various teams at Microsoft, Telefonica, Facebook, Sophos, SAP, and Intel to solve business-critical software systems problems.

Dr. Boshmaf received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada (2015) under the mentorship of Prof. Matei Ripeanu and Prof. Konstantin Beznosov. His doctoral thesis characterized the threats posed by automated fake accounts in the social Web, and provided the design of a system to efficiently and effectively defend against them. This system is currently deployed by online social networks to protect hundreds of millions of users worldwide.
